Fernando Pessoa's Room

This series of 3 paintings made in 1993 was exhibited the following year at Casa Fernando Pessoa.
It shows a corner of a room, which evokes Fernando Pessoa's room as much as any other rooms, either real or imagined. The reference to the Portuguese poet is given by the objects placed in the interior of the room, but also by the open window that shows the house in front at different times of the day. The depicted open window can be related to the poem Tabacaria by the heteronym Álvaro de Campos: "Windows of my room, | […] You open onto the mystery of a street continually crossed by people, | A street inaccessible to any thought […] ”.
