Lisbon

Lisbon is a theme very dear to Manuel Amado, to which he returned several times over the years.
In 1998, several paintings were showed in an exhibition with this title at the Galveias Palace, in Lisbon, including the set of exteriors of the city, which show it totally stripped of everything that is not spatial presence. That is why José Cardoso Pires said of these pictures that they showed "Lisbon in absentia”.
