Stagings

An exhibition of this series took place at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, in Lisbon, in 2011 and the catalog included a text by the poet Nuno Júdice.

About this set of works, which extends the work of the series The Show Is About to Begin, the painter said: "It is a bit obsessive theme, it is not theatre, it is something a little bit linked to surrealism, but with nothing to do with surrealism because I am not a surrealist, although I have, even in terms of my generation, strong connections, not only affective, but cultural connections to the world of surrealism that, as I was a kid, was in full swing. Now, through my painting, I will revisit surrealism." (interview with Marta Reis, Público - Ípsilon, November 15, 2007).
